I’m Henry Faarup Humbert — Cofounder & CEO of Ciudad Porta Norte, the largest walkable solarpunk town in Panama City. We sell lots to developers and institutions, and build the roads and public spaces that make a great neighborhood. City-building from the ground up.

I was born and raised in Panama City, studied economics at UT Austin (2012), and spent time at Panama’s only VC firm before cofounding Porta Norte in 2014. A decade in, the project has become a living experiment in walkable, sustainable urbanism — and has taught me everything about finance, design, politics, patience, and the compounding nature of good decisions.

That same compounding principle drives my interest in investing. I’m a student of Berkshire Hathaway, value investing, and the long game. I write here in English and Spanish about urbanism, investing, philosophy, and building things that last.

Nací y me crié en la Ciudad de Panamá, estudié economía en UT Austin (2012), y trabajé en la única firma de capital de riesgo en Panamá antes de cofundar Porta Norte en 2014. Una década después, el proyecto se convirtió en un experimento vivo de urbanismo caminable y sostenible — y me ha enseñado todo sobre finanzas, diseño, política, paciencia y la naturaleza compuesta de las buenas decisiones.

Ese mismo principio compuesto impulsa mi interés en las inversiones. Soy estudiante de Berkshire Hathaway, la inversión en valor y el juego a largo plazo. Escribo aquí en español e inglés sobre urbanismo, inversiones, filosofía y el arte de construir algo que perdure.
